So I finally did it lol. Been lurking here a while and figured I'd share.

Few weeks back I found a 2018 Jayco PRECEPT 33U on Heritage House Dealers. Photos looked decent, mileage was low, price honestly seemed sketchy it was so low. Almost passed on it but figured what the heck.

Here's the thing though — it's a blind auction. You just throw in your number and have NO idea what anyone else bid. No counter-bids, nothing. Just submit and pray basically.

I sat on it for like two days trying to figure out my number. Looked at what these things usually go for, added a little cushion for the "auction tax" as I call it, and hit submit. Then immediately regretted it and checked the site 10 times that week like that was gonna change anything 😂

Results day comes and... I won. Legit could not believe it.

Picked it up last weekend and honestly it's even better than the pics. Interior's clean, runs smooth, AC blows cold. Needed a good wash and the previous owner left some stuff in the cabinets (found a whole camping kit in there, free bonus I guess lol).

Anyway my only advice with these blind auctions: don't sit there guessing what other people bid because you literally can't know. Just figure out what it's worth to you and go.

Anyone else had luck with these? Or get burned? Curious what kind of wins people are getting

Nice win! Question for you or anyone how long did the pickup process take? that camping kit find is funny, previous owner of mine left a whole box of kitchen stuff. Still using the coffee maker 😂

I chose their transport option for $1.5/mile and it took around 1-2 weeks, depends how far the item is...I think you can pick it yourself but i'm too lazy for that =))

Not bad at all :D i prefer to inspect it myself

Ugh seeing this after I just lost a bid last week 🙃no idea by how much either which is the worst part of blind auctions imo. Anyway congrats, living vicariously through you :)). What was your strategy for picking your number? I never know if I'm going too low or way over

This thread is convincing me to actually try one of these. Been watching listings on 58autoauction for weeks but too nervous to pull the trigger. The blind part freaks me out but I guess it works both ways right? Nobody knows MY bid either. Question:how accurate are the photos/condition reports usually?

They have photos for each element of rvs, even engine...if there are scratches or some rust they'll let you know, they're trying their best to avoid reports and have a good reputation

I keep trying but there's always someone else that overpay for the auction :) you need some luck to win something at a decent price

Blind auctions are wild lol. I've bid on probably 8-10 units on there over the past year and won 2. Lost way more than I won but the two I got were solid deals so can't complain. One thing I learned don't bid on anything you haven't at least looked at the condition report on REAL close.

True one, if the engine isn't clean enough and inspection report is low I don't even bid the minimum price

This is the content I'm here for 🙌 We're 2 for 4 on blind auction wins this year. Best tip I can add: bid on listings that end at weird times (like Tuesday 2pm). Way less competition than the Friday evening ones.

No point to win something overpriced, bid as much as you think it deserve

Anyone know if they do financing through the site or is it cash/check only? Looking at a few listings rn and reading this thread has me tempted but don't have 20k sitting around
